H. Walter Barre II
Wally’s resume includes over 35 years of investment services experience. Prior to becoming chairman of Colonial Trust in 1989, he served as a financial consultant for the Robinson-Humphrey Company. He has worked as Colonial’s lead portfolio manager and has extensive trust and estate experience. A Spartanburg native, Wally is a Washington and Lee University graduate and holds a Masters of Business Administration from Emory University.
Barry D. Wynn
Since 1972, Barry has worked extensively with investment and retirement planning. Before becoming president of Colonial in 1992, he was First Vice President of the Robinson-Humphrey Company and designed investment policy statements. He is involved in public policy and serves on many boards including Santee Cooper and the SC Economic Development Corporation. He is a Spartanburg native and a graduate of The Citadel.
Bert D. Barre,
Principal & Trust Officer
Prior to joining Colonial in 2001, Bert worked as an Equity Research Analyst with Wachovia Securities, Inc. In 2003, he earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Bert became a principal of the firm in 2007 and serves as both a trust officer and portfolio manager. He is a native of Spartanburg and a graduate of Washington and Lee University.
Camp R. Wynn,
Principal & Trust Officer
Camp joined Colonial in 2001, and became a principal in 2007. He previously worked as an analyst in Banc of America Securities’ Global Corporate Investment Bank in Charlotte and for the Bank of America Financial Strategies Group. He earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2003. He serves as a trust officer and portfolio manager, and heads Colonial’s investment research. He is a Spartanburg native and a graduate of USC.
Carolyn L. West
VP & Operations Manager
Carolyn West brings nearly 30 years of extensive experience in investment operations and management to Colonial Group. For several years, she was responsible for branch operations at Robinson-Humphrey Company’s Spartanburg office. She assisted with operations, personnel training following a national merger, and was cross-trained for several administrative positions. She is a primary contact for many of our clients and custodial institutions, is responsible for all investment data reconciliation, and oversees all internal operations. Her long-term client relationships, strong organizational skills and dedication to serving our clients are valuable assets to Colonial Group.
Karen H. Longhurst,
VP of Trust Operations
Karen Longhurst has over 25 years of experience in trust management and operations. Prior to joining Colonial Trust in 2007, Karen was with Boys, Arnold Trust Company in Asheville, North Carolina where she was the Administration and Operations Manager serving as a primary contact for personal trust and investment management accounts. Previously Karen worked as trust relationship manager for RBC Centura Bank in Asheville, N.C., where she worked with both personal and commercial trust clients. Karen received the Certified Trust Financial Advisor designation in 2003.
Jamison W. Hinds,
Jamie joins Colonial Trust after having practiced law in Greenville for 18 years with the firm Ashmore Leaphart Rabon Hinds, LLC. He practiced in Estate Planning, Trust & Probate Administration and Litigation. He has served on the South Carolina Board of Accountancy and in other community roles. A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Jamie is a graduate of Sewanee, The University of South and The University of Alabama School of Law.

VP & Trust Officer, Planning & Risk Specialist - Columbia
Brad has worked in the financial services industry specializing in financial planning and risk management. Prior to joining Colonial, he served as a Financial Advisor with Northwestern Mutual. He is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and also earned certifications as a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), and Certified in Long-Term Care (CLTC). Brad holds degrees from Clemson University.
Ansley J. Mitcham
Vice President & Trust Officer - Columbia
Ansley has an extensive professional background with nearly 20 years of experience in trust administration. She has worked alongside Hugh Graham at Southeastern Trust Company and BB&T, and most recently served as CFO and Trust Officer at Graham & Associates, LLC in Columbia (an affiliate of East Broad Trust Company). She earned a Bachelors of Science degree from USC.
Pamela G. McCauley
Trust Officer for Special Needs & Circumstances
Pam comes to Colonial Trust after having served the Probate Courts of South Carolina as a professional Guardian and Conservator. She navigated the most difficult situations for families in those roles. A native of Upstate New York, Pam graduated from the University of Connecticut and came to South Carolina in 1984. She lives in Greenville County and will work statewide administering our Special Needs Trusts and on other Trusts with challenging issues and circumstances.
W. Charlton Wieters,
Vice President & Trust Officer - Charleston
Charlton came to Colonial Trust in 2018 after seven years in investments and finance at the Coastal Community Foundation of South Carolina. Earlier in his career he gained experience in investments, banking, and real estate finance with Merrill Lynch, Carolina First Bank, and Ravenel Associates. A native of Charleston, he is a graduate of Porter-Gaud, Sewanee - The University of the South, and received an MBA from The Citadel. Charlton received the Certified Trust Financial Advisor designation in 2020.
James C. Fiske, CFP
Portfolio Manager & Investment Analyst
Prior to joining Colonial in 2019, Jimmy worked as a Portfolio Analyst at Brown Advisory in Washington, D.C. and more recently as a Financial Advisor at BB&T Scott and Stringfellow in Greenville, SC. He earned a Certificate in Financial Planning from Georgetown University - School of Continuing Studies and is a Certified Financial Planner™. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of South Carolina. Jimmy is originally from Alexandria, VA, and now lives in Greenville with his wife, Patton, and newborn daughter, Caroline.
Reid E. Thompson,
Vice President & Corporate Retirement Plan Specialist
Before joining Colonial Trust in 2020, Reid worked as Investment Adviser at Eagle Strategies, LLC, and has worked in financial services since 2003. He serves as a retirement plan specialist at Colonial, handling all aspects of corporate retirement plans. He is a native of New Providence, New Jersey, and a graduate of Furman University. He is married to Sharon Slider-Thompson, and they have two young sons, Montford (2) and Myers (newborn).
Lorie L. Barton
Assistant Operations Manager
Lorie is a native of Pauline, SC and has been with Colonial Group since 1991. She has performed a variety of duties since joining the firm. Lorie has worked extensively in both the trust and asset management departments. She is currently responsible for all trading activity, assists the Operations Manager, and handles all bookkeeping for the firm.
Leeta T. Lister
Senior Trust Administrator
Leeta joined Colonial in 2013 after nine years of service at Bank of America where she served as a Personal Banker. Leeta holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from USC Upstate and is primarily responsible for trust administration and trust client service in our Spartanburg office.
Elaine B. Layton
Elaine joined Colonial in 2007 following many years of dedicated customer service with other firms. Elaine serves as our primary receptionist in the Spartanburg office and assists in all administrative aspects of the firm.
Barbara F. Weatherford
Barbara brings nearly 30 years of financial services experience to Colonial. For over twenty years she worked with Bank of America in their operations and customer service departments. Before joining Colonial Trust in 1997 she worked in the operations department at The Robinson-Humphrey Company in Greenville for five years. Barbara is a trust administrator, operations assistant, and has primary responsibility for client service in the Greenville office.
Heather N. Tisdale
Heather joined Colonial in 2016 after eight years of service at BNC Bank where she served as Assistant Branch Manager. She holds a Sociology degree from the University of South Carolina and is a Trust Administrator in our Charleston office.
Libby R. Adamson
Libby brings a diverse skill set to her role as Business Manager at Colonial. Her most recent roles at Pine Street School and the Episcopal Church of the Advent gave her valuable experience and deep exposure to our community. She is responsible for bookkeeping, vendor contracts, marketing, HR administration, and more.
Lori joined Colonial in June of 2018 after serving 14 years in retail banking with BB&T and First Citizens Banks as a Financial Center Leader. She is a native of Greenville, and a graduate of North Greenville University and Erskine College where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. Lori is primarily responsible for trust administration and client service in our Greenville office.
Shanea M. Ford
Shanea joined Colonial in March of 2019 after nine years of experience in retail banking here in Spartanburg, most recently with Carolina Alliance Bank as an Operations Associate. A native of Bethune, South Carolina, Shanea holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from USC Upstate and is a Trust Administrator in our Spartanburg office.

Ellen joined Colonial in 2019 after three years of service at Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd, P. A. where she served as a legal assistant. Ellen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Business Administration from the College of Charleston and is primarily responsible for trust administration, client services, and operations in our Columbia office.
